RG Kar Rape & Murder Accused Sanjay Roy Found Guilty; Court To Announce Sentence On Jan 20

Kolkata's Sealdah Court on Saturday pronounced accused Sanjay Roy guilty of rape-murder of on-duty doctor at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata. The court will pronounce the sentence for the accused on Monday (January 20).

As per reports, accused Sanjay Roy was found guilty of rape and murder governed under sections 64, 66 and 103 (1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the RG Kar rape and murder case. Sections 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita that governs rape and Sections 66 deals with punishments for death and murder. Section 103 (1) of BNS entails a maximum punishment of death or life imprisonment.

In response BJP alleged that Kejriwal's car 'crushed' one of their party workers and the person's leg was broken.

Union Budget 2025: Government Likely To Introduce New Income Tax Bill

The government is expected to introduce a new income tax bill during the upcoming Budget session of Parliament, aimed at simplifying the current tax law, making it more understandable, and reducing its length by approximately 60 percent, PTI reported.
